September 2008 will begin our 15th season of
hayrides. The tractor drawn wagon will take you on a 20 minute, narrated
tour of the wooded area of our farm. Your tour guide, Walt, will
take you back in time as he guides you through what was once an old rock
quarry where peanut stone was once mined and used to build many of the
area homes as well as the newly restored Peanut Stone Bridge in Atlantic
Highlands.

Native holly, mountain laurel and other native
shrubs, trees and wild flowers are among the natural beauty of the
land. The wooded area is a haven for all kinds of birds,
butterflies and wild life. If you're real quiet (su...sh) you may
even see some of the many deer, rabbit and red or gray fox that inhabit
the area.
At the end of the hayride (in season) you will
be able to purchase a pumpkin to take home with you. Cornstalks,
gourds, hay bales and other fall decorations are also available for
purchase.
|
 |
We also
have field-grown mums, fall perennials, shrubs and flowering kale and
cabbage.
The wagon rides will be available from 10:00am
until dusk on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Weekday and group
rides are available by pre-arranged appointment only. There is
also a beautiful, serene area available for your group to enjoy a picnic
surrounded by pure, natural beauty! |
